HolaLola

So my sister-in-law, Amy, (the sassy one in the top photo-uh-matching her momo blanket!) has started an amazingly insightful and achingly hilarious blog called "Hola Lola".  Check it out by clicking on the title of this post.  She is sharing her experience as a new mom (see her daughter, sweet Lola in the bottom photo, chilling at Ben's birthday party--what a fab baby!), and as a new working mom.  She is tackling her feelings, struggles, joys, and learnings with a sincere, and  loving irreverence that will make you laugh and cry at once.  I have been out of inspiration. . .or back in the mode of running the fast race, that my blog took a back seat. . . but as when I started this thing, Amy has once again spurred me onward!  A double dose of good luck for me!

Etsy Find of the Week

Look at these amazing toys I found on Etsy!  They have stunning fabric combinations, the expressions that the artist has been able to achieve with these animals is precious!  And, even more important, they are unique, they leave your child time to use imagination, and they'll look fabulous in momoFandango nurseries and rooms!!

Inspiring Spring

A tree in our backyard is blooming these beautiful, delicate, purply pink flowers that make me so happy!  I took a photo of them against this clear blue sky and realized that my newest blankets for momoFandango are akin to the palette of these spring blooms.  Don't you just love spring?!?

downtown photo shoot

Ben and I visited my hometown of Baird, TX for Easter last weekend. . . Baird is a small town in West Texas, and as I drove through town I realized how perfect the lonesome, but beautiful buildings downtown would be to showcase the momoFandango blankets.  Take a look at these examples from the shoot--don't you just love the old brick,  the weeds growing through the sidewalk, and "closed" sign on the abandoned building?!?  They will soon be shown on the relaunch of the momoFandango website.  Soon Soon!!!

Ride the Retro

I love these cool, retro fabrics from Purl Soho--my fave new source.  They
are designed by Denise Schmidt and the line is called "Katie
Jump Rope", priced at $9 per yard.  What great momoFandango
blankets they will make!

Who's Your City?

My husband, Ben, and I have a recurring conversation about our lives, our path, our journey. . . and the same questions always come from this discussion: "why do we live where we live?"; "Do we feel connected to our city; to our neighborhood?"; "Do we want to be here?" ;  "If we don't want to be here, then where. . . ?"  Ben found this book, Who's your City by Richard Florida, and immediately knew it was a perfect read for us.  He had already given Richard Florida's first book, "The Rise of the Creative Class", to my brother as a gift. . .but this one is really where we are right now, figuratively speaking.  Literally, we are in Dallas, TX, and there are reasons why we are here--good friends, family, work, a new house, etc.  But we don't know yet, if we are in the right spot for the long run. . .and apparently, according to Florida, this is an important question to be asking, because especially if you fit into the Creative Class, your city has a massive effect on your happiness and your future success. . . just the things we are chasing.  Keep you posted. . .
