gone to the cheese fest

Both my husband and myself grew up in small towns.  Ben is from Weatherford, OK and I'm from Baird, TX.  We wouldn't trade it for anything, and although we lead a different lifestyle now, we still like to go home. . . some things just don't happen in the city the way they do in a small town--for instance, the last time we tested it, you could send an envelope in the mail with only my parent's name, the town, and the zip code an it would be delivered.  And most recently, we passed by a downtown storefront while visiting the Magill's in Oklahoma and this is what we saw taped to the door (on a Saturday!); "We are at the Cheese Fest in Watonga -Wendy"  How awesome is that?  Seriously--I love it, and it makes me laugh and miss the old days when the Night Watchman would report that to my parents that I missed my curfew. . .

winter baby

I'll have a winter baby in December sometime, so I'm always on the lookout for cute, cuddly things I might want for the baby boy.  Take a look at these precious knits I found on ETSY.  They come from oishiiknits, and range in price from #30-32.  Such a great price for such beautiful hats/blankets/toys.  oishiiknits makes me even more excited for the weather to cool down and the seasons to change. . . bringing the arrival of the baby, (Lola, Charlie and Maggie's cousin) even closer! EEK.  I should be figuring out my daycare/work situation instead shopping for knit caps--but alas, I give you knit caps. . .

Ben on the beach.
The baby [bump], my feet, and Ben's feet on the pacific coast.
on the pathway overlooking the Pacific Coast Highway--don't you just love the shadow of the fence?  Ben has a good eye--I see a pattern for momoFandango!

Late Summer Photography

We took a family trip to Fredricksburg recently.  Just a weekend away with my parents, Ben, Clay, Amy and Lola.  It was so nice to have a change of scenery and a chance to just hang out together.  Mom and Dad rented a place where we could all stay together and have a pool, and some beautiful land to wander on. . . my sister-in-law requested I take some photos of her, Clay and Lola since they have not taken a family photo in a while.  So we took a little walk and had a little photo shoot. . . below are the digital results of that walk and beyond.  Can't wait to see how the old school manual camera with film shots turn out.
